Privacy and cookies

Updated 8 September 2026

We collect as little as we need to answer enquiries and run the website. Analytics and advertising measurement are optional and off until you accept.

Who is responsible

The Gists is operated by Algirdas Kolesnikovas, Vilnius, Kuosų g. 9-R18, LT-10312 Lithuania. Contact: info@thegists.org, +370 678 54648.

This notice describes how we handle personal data on thegists.org. It is not a substitute for legal advice.

What we collect

Contact form: name, email, company (optional), and project brief. We use this to reply to your enquiry and keep a record of the conversation.

Server and security logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) may be processed by Cloudflare while hosting and protecting the site.

We do not sell personal data.

Cookies and analytics

Necessary cookies: lng (language preference) and tg_cookie_consent (your analytics choice). These are required for the site to remember locale and consent.

Optional analytics: PostHog (EU cloud) loads only if you choose Accept Analytics. It helps us understand page use. If you choose Reject Analytics, PostHog is not loaded.

Optional advertising measurement: Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) loads only after Accept Analytics. It records PageView on each page and a Lead event after a successful contact-form submit, using cookies such as _fbp. We do not send your form email to Meta. If you reject analytics, the Pixel script is not loaded.

You can change this later with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.

How long we keep data

Enquiry emails and form records are kept as long as needed to handle the request and for legitimate bookkeeping, then deleted or archived with access limited to the operator.

Consent cookie lasts 180 days. Language cookie lasts 30 days unless you change language again.

Your rights

Under GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of your data, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email info@thegists.org.

You may lodge a complaint with the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI) or your local EU supervisory authority.
